Just make sure you check to make sure it fits your year Altima before purchasing. If you do need one, they are pretty reasonable on Amazon. The second is that it only takes a few minutes to test it with a multimeter.
#2011 NISSAN ALTIMA MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR PROBLEMS HOW TO#
Here’s a video on how to test one without pulling it.
I had to coast off the interstate to the side of the road. I was accelerating on the interstate this week and at 65 mph and it felt like the engine failed. I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue with 30,000 miles (purchased Jan 2016 from local dealer). Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedalħ. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedalĤ. Depress/Release pedal 5 times.hard and fast.ģ. The most critical step is step #3.wait 10 sec, instead of 7.Ģ. Just count in your head.one-one thousand, two-one thousand, etc, or use stop watch. Timing is not as critical with this method.no stop watch needed. You'll get so darn good at it, you'll find yourself doing it while waiting at a traffic light.
After a few times, you won't need a watch or instructions. I've used this method successfully a dozen times, or so, now w/o a watch. This method works EVERY time, even w/o a stopwatch. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU.Įdit: Added the "Easy Method" for ECU ResetĪfter experimenting with different timing, and reading posts by other members, I've come up with a condensed method of doing this reset. If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the car. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).Ĩ. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.ħ. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)Ħ. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking.Ĥ. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).ģ. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.Ģa.
Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.Ģ. A stop watch or an analog clock with a second’s needle will be useful.ġ. If it is NOT DONE within the specify time, the ECU will not reset and the Check Engine Light (CEL) will continue to remain ON. I was wondering if this is how to reset the ECU
